ASSOCIATE
Kevin is an Associate at Kemp Klein, where he advises clients across the full range of labor and employment matters. He pairs practical, business-minded counsel with a sharp understanding of litigation risk. Kevin represents clients in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, whistleblower claims, workplace safety (including Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) matters), trade secrets, wage and hour issues (including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) matters), and non-compete and non-solicit claims. He guides employers through compliance questions, workplace investigations, and traditional labor matters, and he also assists employees, including executives, by analyzing employment and severance agreements.
Kevin’s labor and employment experience runs deep. During his first years of practice, he worked at a large, Michigan-based law firm on its Labor and Employment team. Before entering law, he held human resources roles in both the public and private sectors, conducting employee investigations, advising on compliance with employment laws, and managing labor relations matters that included contract negotiations, arbitrations, and grievances. That background gives him a grounded, practical perspective on workplace disputes and the realities of legal compliance.
Kevin earned his juris doctor magna cum laude from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Detroit Mercy Law Review. During law school, he interned with Judge Christopher M. Murray of the Michigan Court of Appeals and Judge Terrence Berg of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
